VISION: Past, Present and Future

A Christmas Carol, a novella written by Charles Dickens, has timeless themes found in movies, music, and even beer!
Ebeneezer is a harsh, lonely miser of a man, who is visited by the ghost of his former partner, Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Future. After reflecting on these scenes, his heart is warmed and he becomes a changed, kinder, gentler man.

As we close out the year of 2019 and the decade of the 2010’s, here are some tips for self-reflection. Don’t worry about coming up with the “right” answers—there aren’t any right answers, and your answers will likely change over time.

PAST: Thinking back on the year/decade, ask yourself:

What have a I learned?
How have I grown?
What went right?
What three things are you most proud of in your life?
PRESENT: Taking a look around at your present life, consider the answers to these questions:

Am I using my time wisely?
Am I living true to myself?
What are my five greatest strengths?
Have I made someone smile today?
FUTURE: Thinking about the upcoming New Year and New Decade full of potential and possibilities, ponder these:

What do I want to be remembered for?
What matters most in my life?
What desires keep tugging at my heart?
What would I do if I knew I couldn’t fail?
My friend Danny Ballard (a ray of sunshine to all he meets) often says,

True JOY is experienced in the PRESENT moment.

STRESS is rooted in EXPECTATION based on PAST experiences and or FUTURE wishes.

The first one already happened (it’s in the past now!), but you can still get in on the joy, creativity and clarity of the next Vision Board Party!
