My Favorite Tools – Part 3
My Favorite Tools: Part 3
Yesterday, Emily Garcia and I spoke to a room full of women business owners and shared our presentation called: Brain Hacks for Business Owners. It was great – if we do say so ourselves!
It got me thinking about my ultimate favorite tool for business – my brain!
In our presentation we shared what is happening in our brains as we go about our business tasks and then how to help our brain work more effectively.
Our brains are so powerful and can be our biggest help or our biggest hinderance in growing our business.
I thought I would share just a few facts about our brains.
Neuroscientist have found we have over 86 Million neurons firing in our brains everyday running our bodies, our emotions, our thoughts and much more.
We have 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts everyday! Whew! and sadly 80% of those thoughts are negative (Self-doubt, worry, Criticism, fear, rumination, anticipation, anxiety) and of those 95% are running on repeat!
Good news – Our brains can change those patterns of negative thoughts and become more positive – this is called Neuroplasticity. Habitual thoughts form neural pathways and new neural pathways can be formed with new thoughts.
Here was one hack I shared that many people seemed to enjoy yesterday.
If you are a person who does not like to get out of bed in the morning – hitting the snooze button a few too many times, add in this morning routine to shift your neuro pathways for more energy, positivity.
When alarm goes off – stand up out of bed and raise hands over head in a victory pose and say YES!
This tells your brain getting out of bed is a positive thing, produces those celebratory brain chemicals and will start your day in a positive way.
And it only takes 2-3 seconds! How easy is that?
So, there you have it—a simple brain hack that can help set a positive tone for your day. Whether it’s about making small changes or exploring new ways to rewire our brains, there’s always a tool to improve our daily lives and business success. Try it out tomorrow morning, and who knows? It might just become your new favorite habit.
Thank you for joining me on this journey through my favorite tools.
